INTRODUCTION Welcome To Tanzania Centre For Democracy

The Tanzania Centre for Democracy (TCD) is a non religious, non-partisan and not - for - profit non governmental membership organization founded by Parliamentary Political Parties. Current members are Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), The Civic United Front (CUF), National Convention for

Construction and Reform Mageuzi (NCCR Mageuzi), and Alliance for Change and Transparency (ACT- Wazalendo). Political Parties outside the parliament are Associate members who participate in TCD governance

organs by being represented as a block by one political party on a six months rotational basis.

It was founded on 5th July 2005, and registered under the Societies Ordinance 1954,in 2006.

Political Parties with Parliamentary representation established the centre to serve as cross party platform for parliamentary parties to cooperate in building and strengthening a culture for multiparty democracy through dialogue, consultation, strategizing and implement an agenda for democratic development.
